En route to Florence, we have a stopover in Pisa! This is a tourist filled sanctuary that's always busy throughout the day. This is a popular stop between Venice and Florence. I couldn't wait to see the structure in person and take my basic tourist photo in front of it as well as the hundred of other people doing the exact same thing.
Ciao Pisa!
The Leaning Tower of Pisa is one of Italy's most known architectural structures. With its highest point set at twelve feet off it's vertical, the 'lean' really takes your breath away in person. People watching is a must here, seeing everyone attempt to support the infamous structure with one finger, a leg, or whatever creative pose they come up with is very amusing! The cathedral of Duomo, the Baptistry and the historic cemetery Camposanto Monumentale are also located in this area. Four old monuments places one next to another and surrounded by green grass and also can't forget security. Yep, you will get whistled or yelled at if you go on the well maintained grass for a clear photo without tourists blocking the shot.
I suggest getting there as early as possible if you want good photos. We didn't have much time here so must of us got a few photos, walked around, and looked at souvenirs. Our tour manager had a thing where, if any of us was the last to arrive to the meet up spot or get on the coach bus, you were forced to sing in front of the bus. I bring this up because unfortunately the group of guys I was with decided to take photos with pizza and their impromptu photoshoot took longer than expected and we ended up coming in last and had to do "coacheoke". Hope you enjoy the photos I took in Pisa!
