Did not know what to expect from the lovely island of Paros, but it surely did not disappoint! From the white houses, cute restaurants, boat excursions, breathtaking sunsets, and my new found appreciation for Greek beach clubs -I'm ready to head back!!
Paros is an island in the heart of the Cyclades Islands in Greece. It is renowned for its wildlife and natural beauty and has become a popular tourist destination in recent years. This island is one of the more laid back and calm islands I've experienced in Greece. Walk around Naoussa, a promenade filled with great restaurants, cafés, shops, bars and nightclubs. Work on your tan in any of their amazing beaches. Take a boat tour and explore the gorgeous waters this area has to offer. Watch amazing sunsets in Parikia. No matter where you go or what you do on this island, you will enjoy it!
Getting Here.
You can get to Paros by either boat or plane. Due to its location and importance, Paros is connected not just to Piraeus (the port of Athens – the second busiest passenger port in the world!) but also to Rafina which is closer to the airport. Paros is often the first stop in the Cyclades for many of the ferries and is the stopping off point on the way to Mykonos, Santorini and all the other Cyclades Islands. From the airport, you can take the shuttle bus that goes to the capital, Parikia. Of course, there are also taxis and rental cars available to take you to any destination on the island. If you choose to reach Paros by ferryboat from Athens, you have the option of taking either the high-speed ferry that is about 2:45 hours or the regular ferry that is about four and a half hours long.

Arriving in Paros, everything that I have imagined about Greece with the white houses and blue accents on doors and windows became a reality. This island took my breath away and I could not wait to explore it! Heading to our first Greek beach club (Punda Beach) was so much fun. We finally got to soak up the sun and lay out by the ocean, sip on some cocktails, and jam out to good music. This was one of my favorite days in Paros, especially the bartender giving out free shots to the group I was with. After leaving our first beach club experience, we headed to our dinner that had great views of the island and of course a beautiful sunset overlooking the water. We also participated in Greek dancing and smashing plates to the floor (When in Greece haha).
The following day we went on a sailing tour around Paros that stopped in different areas to snorkel, eat, and sunbathe! Everyone who were part of the first part of the tour were expecting a boat trip like the one we had in Corfu (Georges Boat style) but sadly the sailing tour included people that weren't from our tour and they had complained about the music being loud. So it wasn't the same type of vibe we had in Corfu but it still was fun nonetheless. We stopped at amazing places to snorkel and also getting great views of the island, could not ask for anything more! We then had dinner and got to walk around the island, get souvenirs, and get some yummy dessert. We then headed to a local pub near our hotel for the night, which was the best. So many fun and hilarious memories this night!! Want to follow the rest of my Greek island hopping adventures (click here) for my information.
