If you're not familiar with restaurant week, where have you been? Restaurant Week varies from place to place. The general concept is that local restaurants promote a week of pre-fixed lunch and dinner specials. Usually it consists of three to four course meals and drinks specials by the glass or pitcher. In New Jersey, restaurant week started January 22 and ends February 2. To see what restaurants are participating this year (click here). If you won't be able to check it out before it ends, don't worry restaurant week usually happens twice a year!
I love trying out new spots so I definitely love the restaurant week concept. I mean getting more for your money is always a plus right? Hudson restaurant week always falls on the week of my mother's birthday. We decided to try out Hard Grove, which is located in Jersey City and serves Cuban cuisine. The decor of this place is super cute with exposed brick, industrial touches, and a cozy feel. Since we were there for dinner we a four course meal included a soup or salad, appetizer, entree, and desert all for $30 per person! If you want to see their restaurant week menu (click here). The food was amazing and very filling. Everyone at our dinner party loved the food and would come definitely come back in the future. Here are some photos of my meal as well as the other food that was ordered by family members!
Chicken Soup
Kale Salad
Guacamole with Plantain Chips
Hard Grove Lemon Salsa Chicken
Grilled Salmon
Paella Valenciana
