Bogota, Colombia | #TBT

Both my parents are from Colombia which may make me biased when writing this blog post (lol). Surprisingly, my parents met in the United States but are both from the same beautiful city of Bogota. Bogota is Colombia's capital which is also the largest city in Colombia, and one of biggest cities in Latin America. I've been fortunate enough to visit Colombia many times growing up. There is so much culture, history, and beautiful architecture to explore in this wonderful city. I wanted to to share a few places that I think is worth visiting when visiting Bogota.

M O N S E R R A T E

This mountain dominates the city center of Bogotá. It rises to 3,152 meters (10,341 ft) above the sea level, where there is a church, restaurants and fabulous views. I do recommend going in the morning and at night to see the beautiful city in different settings. You have the option to hike up the mountain or ride the cable car and enjoy the views till you reach the top. Have your camera charged and ready when visiting this picture-esque place!

Salitre Magico is an amusement park located in Bogota inside the Parque el Salitre. Currently it has 39 mechanical attractions such as roller coasters, bumping cars, and the unique "Castillo del Terror" (Castle of Horror). It is one of the most classic amusement park Bogota has, as well as the largest, among some others such as the Mundo Aventura and CiCi Aqua Park. It's no 6 Flags Great Adventure but it's still fun nonetheless. You get to interact with locals and experience an amusement park that you've never been to before! I do recommend trying a Colombian hot dog while you're there, it's a MUST!

Parque de la 93 otherwise known as 93rd Street Park is a commercial and recreational park located over the 93 Street in the north of Bogota, Colombia. It's one of Bogota's most popular shopping, night club and restaurant areas. This place is beautiful to visit during the day or at night. One of my favorite times of the year to visit this park is in December. It's like the Rockefeller Center of Bogota with the tree lighting and Christmas decor.
