The Ven at Embassy Row | A Tribute Portfolio Hotel

April 30, 2022

Looking for a hotel in Washington D.C look no further and book a stay at The Ven at Embassy Row,  A Tribute Portfolio Hotel!

The Ven at Embassy Row.

Address: 2015 Massachusetts Ave NW, Washington DC, 20036

The Ven at Embassy Row is located in the Dupont Circle neighborhood in Washington DC. This property is categorized as a 4 star lifestyle hotel. The Ven at Embassy Row,  A tribute Portfolio hotel is part under the umbrella of Marriott brand properties. There's nine floors with a rooftop terrace and pool, art gallery, fitness center, game room and many lounge areas. This hotel is surrounded by international embassies, super close to the metro station and walkable to many restaurants + shops.

The Ven has a Nordic hygge aesthetic design. The lounge areas have pops of color and earth tones intertwined with modern touches separating the areas. It makes every corner look insta-worthy for those who enjoy snapping away cute hotel photos. Fun fact, this hotel went under a huge renovation on the lobby, restaurant and bar during the pandemic. Which was supposed to take a few months ended up being a year with all the delays in shipping and supplies.

I was so excited to go on mini getaway to Washington D.C! I haven't been to Washington D.C in so long so I was super excited to make a weekend trip there. Looking back at the times I did visit this city, it was always a day trip experience so this time around being able to stay for a few nights made this Washington D.C experience different! After packing up our bags, snacks and getting some gas, the road trip from New York to DC commenced. This was 4-5 hour drive so there were plenty of pitstops, singing to music, and enjoying the beautiful scenery from state to state.

Upon arriving to Washington D.C, we arrived to the Dupont Circle neighborhood and loved the area instantly. It was very lively with many people walking around, dining outside and gorgeous flowers planted everywhere.  We pulled into The Ven at Embassy Row where we were greeted by valet to park our car for our weekend stay. Grabbing our bags and headed into the hotel, I loved the modern decor, lighting and cherry blossom trees you saw at the entrance. The checking process was quick and seamless. We were even given fun colorful bracelets. The staff were telling us that ven means friend in Danish. So every guest receives a bracelet upon check-in, I thought that such a beautiful touch!

Our room was on the seventh floor with a king size bed and stunning city views. The room felt pretty spacious for three people staying in it for the weekend. I loved the big windows and the light that came in throughout the day. It was cool to see airplanes arriving and departing from the comfort of my room. The bed was so comfortable! There were many moments during our stay where I didn't want to get up because I was that comfy. I loved that daily house keeping was back whilst staying in hotels! Our coffee/tea pods and water was re-filled every day which was great since we love the flavor they had in stock.

At the time we visited, wearing a mask wasn't mandatory. There was a sign on the door where it stated if you weren't vaccinated wearing a mask was preferred in common areas. Also vaccine cards weren't checked either. I noticed it was 50/50 while being around the hotel where some people had masks on and some didn't.

This property is so unique because it has it's own art gallery. I don't recall staying in a property before that has this feature. It was cool walking through and checking out the different art pieces not only in the main room but as well in the smaller art room. The fitness center was very spacious with a lot of equipment. Every time I went for my morning workout, I had the place to myself! Next door to the gym is the game room. I loved this area and spent a lot of time here in the evenings. It also has a cozy area to chill as well. Unfortunately the rooftop terrace and pool were closed whilst I was visiting. From the pictures I've seen, it looks like a beautiful place to hang out and enjoy the views. There's also 24 hour chef's pantry with  things you can grab and go.

The on-site restaurant Fred & Stilla, is a must for dinner! This restaurant is described as a simple but modern take on globally inspired comfort food. off to the right of the lobby, you'll find this beautiful restaurant and bar. We came around 5:30pm and were seated near the window. We were handed two menus; the global table menu and a cherry blossom festival menu. The cherry blossom festival menu had a three course option so two of us decided to try that out and my other guest tried a dish from the global table menu. Let me just say, everything we ordered was so flavorful and tasty. We loved everything and were so impressed with the service, quality of food and the drinks! If you would like to see the food we ordered, keep scrolling to see the photos.

I had such a fantastic stay at this hotel, I would love to come back in the future! Exploring around the area was great. We check out a nearby museum and of course all of the touristy places around Washington DC that we could. There were so many shops and restaurants to check out. We walked so much, it felt like we were back in NYC with the amount of steps we reached each day. We were sad we missed the cherry blossom festival by a week but that just means we have to return soon. I had a blast at this property I truly didn't want to check out so soon. Overall Thoughts.
I have no complaints staying at this property. From check in to check out, everything was so smooth. The staff here were super friendly and accommodating. The hotel is situated in an amazing location and loved how walkable the area is. I was also able to get some work done not only in my room with a spacious desk but also in the common areas next to the lobby.  I truly had a fantastic time here. No wonder this place was always busy with guests checking in and out throughout the weekend. It's the best place to stay when in Washington DC. Also having check out being at 12pm was perfect because I got to last minute things and enjoy my room for a little bit longer. Highly recommend this hotel!

  9. I absolutely adore the idea of a hotel that focuses on hygge. That's the kind of lifestyle I really work hard to live and so this sounds right up my alley. Plus, I'm only a couple of hours from DC. Maybe this will be my next little getaway!
