Antrim Streamside Catskills New York

Need a getaway from New York City? Book a stay at Antrim Streamside if you're in the Catskills area.

Antrim Streamside

Address: 408 Debruce Road, Livingston Manor, New York, 12758

Antrim Streamside is a private escape in the heart of Catskills, New York. Their tagline of "where tranquility meets adventure" really stands true. You get such a different vibe here where you feel like you can just take a second to breath and appreciate nature after being on the go in your day to day. It's just two hours away from New York City which makes this a great place for getaway all year around. If you're in need of getaway from the hectic city life, this is the perfect place to book a stay for either a couple of days or even weeks if you're currently working remotely. Antrim Streamside has a mixture of cottages and cabins to choose from on their privately gated 250 acre property.

This property has great history which I'll give a little snippet of here. The Stone Cottage is an original part of the property which dates back to 1915. It's been updated with modern touches. This land was originally owned by a farmer who used it to graze livestock. Then was sold off to a hollywood producer who worked on the Sherlock Holmes franchise. His ex-wife became the owner of the property and turned the property into a bed and breakfast. Over 25 years ago, the current owners were guests when staying at the former bed and breakfast in Livingston Manor. In 2016, the current owners bought the property and reformed it to what it is today. To read more about Antrim Streamside's history (click here) to read more!

As mentioned in previous posts, traveling responsibly whether it's local or abroad is important during  these times. Making sure you're safe by taking regular covid tests prior and after your trip is strongly advised. Not only for your peace of mind but to the places and communities you're visiting! That being said, Antrim Streamside has protocols in place to keep all guests safe when booking a stay at their property. Here are some highlights of their safety protocols they implemented:

COVID-19 PROTOCOLS:

  • Rigorous cleaning and sanitizing procedures implemented by CDC and NY State
  • Contactless check in and check out
  • Social distancing required if you encounter other guests on the property
  • Hand sanitizers available in each cottage/cabin
  • Refund will be issued if you had COVID-19 exposure within 14 days of your arrival

Kicking off the new year in the Catskills was a great way to start off 2021 on a good note. The change of scenery was very much needed. I couldn't wait to spend a few days at Antrim Streamside! This was my first time exploring the Livingston Manor area of the Catskills. For this trip, we stayed at their Stone Cottage during our time here. We had a private parking area and prior to arriving we were given an entry code to the main gates as well as a code to enter our cottage.  The Stone Cottage was the perfect cozy and spacious cottage we could ever as for. It had everything we needed for the most relaxing weekend in the Catskills. The Stone Cottage is a 2 bedroom, one bath, with an updated kitchen, including dishwasher and laundry facilities. There's also two outdoor decks with retractable awnings and this particular cottage is also pet-friendly. So if you want to bring your furry friends here, the Stone Cottage is the accommodation to book when visiting Antrim Streamside. Also complimentary breakfast (yogurt, fruit, granola, coffee & tea) is provided during your stay.

We were surprised to see fresh snow when we arrived. Where we live, it hadn't snowed that week. We had so much fun cooking meals in the cottage's full equipped kitchen, lounging around in their plush warm robes, watching Netflix, playing board games, and overall just having a great bonding weekend with each other. It's such a peaceful and quiet place, you can truly feel connected to nature here. Walking down to the bridge and Willowemoc creek, you couldn't help but smile and snap a few pictures of the beautiful scenery. The sunshine beaming down through the trees and reflecting on the water and snow just made the place light up with joy. It's crazy how the weather conditions can impact your mood. Although it's still cold, it felt so nice to breathe in fresh crisp air and have gorgeous mountain views. At night, you could also see the stars in the sky clearly which made it feel that more magical.

When booking a stay at Antrim Streamside you have a few options to choose from: The River House, The Stone CottageOrchards Edge, Pond View, The Pines, and Meadow Vale. Keep in mind each accommodation has a different occupancy limit of how many people can stay. Some have 2-3 people occupancy while others have 6-8 occupancy limit. It's important to double check before booking if you plan to come with a group. If anyone violates the maximum occupancy regulation you will charged an additional $100 per guest and per night.

If you're planning to have a wedding or special event, the Antrim Streamside also has wedding services and packages to offer. From the photos seen on their website, this is the perfect venue to have a special private get together from birthdays to corporate events. The set ups you can do on the property with the gorgeous views as a backdrop will for sure bring memorable moments!

There's truly something for everyone to enjoy when staying here. There's fly fishing available, birdwatching, and hiking trails. The Antrim Streamside team can also personalize experiences for you and your guests via their concierge services. They also provide in-room chef services, spa/massage treatments, and set up a tour of Beaver Lake Farm. Communication with the Antrim Streamside team is amazing. I even got to meet the owner (Diane) during my stay here. With the attention to detail, hospitality, and service, I can see myself returning in the future. Couldn't recommend this property enough if you're in the Catskill area! Check out my youtube video below, to get a tour of the property.

Overall Thoughts.

I had such a lovely time at Antrim Streamside. This was truly the perfect place to have safe socially distant getaway! During these pandemic times, this is a great option for those who want to have a mini road trip from NYC or any nearby areas. Staying in a property like this will ensure safety and peace of mind since the cottages and cabins are spaced out from each other and there's contactless check in and check out. Hand sanitizers are provided and the property is big enough to explore at your leisure. Our Stone Cottage was perfect and had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. The attention to detail and communication with Diane (the owner) was excellent. We loved the amazing mountain views and Willowmec creek on the property. I highly recommend booking a stay here if you're in the Catskills area, you won't regret it!

  26. I'm amazed - a a little bit envious - that you guys can still travel around as you please in times like these. Here in Europe, they are really strict because there is a pandemic. In Germany, you aren't even allowed to stay at a hotel for leisure. Good for you that you don't have it that bad.

    1. I haven't traveled around in 2020, taking safety precautions seriously. I've only been exploring locally. Hotels and Resorts are at reduced capacity but have restrictions if you're coming from states that have high covid numbers. Airbnbs are popular nowadays since you don't have contact with other people. This is a private property that could only have 20 guests and the cabins are spread out. During my time here I didn't encounter any other guests and we were mainly inside our cottage. It's not to say that the U.S doesn't have it bad. Cases are rising and people are dying because many people aren't wearing masks and still go to crowded spaces, have parties, and traveling across the country or to countries who don't require testing. Regulations are different state by state. But New York is taking this very seriously. Hope this gave you some clarity on whats happening on this side of the world.
