Souvlaki GR NYC

Experience a little piece of Greek island charm right in New York City! If you love Greek food you will love this place!

Souvlaki GR.
Address: 116 Stanton St, New York, NY 10002

Souvlaki GR is one of the best Greek restaurants I've ever been to in NYC. They got their inspiration from the beautiful island of Mykonos. From the quaint patio to the vibrant blue doors, pristine white walls, and their flower arrangements, you’ll feel like you’re sitting in the Mediterranean, not in Manhattan. Apart from being one of the most Instagrammable restaurants in NYC, the food is enough to impress as well. The food consists of classic Greek dishes, like Tzatziki, moussaka, pita, meat skewers, and gyros. While there are many Greek restaurants in NYC, this one is authentic as it gets! They have indoor and outdoor seating (dependent on the weather conditions). This place can get pretty busy during the weekend so if you're coming with a group I recommend calling ahead to reserve tables. It's a very affordable place to dine in which is always a plus. You will be snapping away take cute photos in this restaurant just because it give you all those Greek island vibes without hopping on a plane. Souvlaki Gr has other locations in the New York City area, I haven't checked the other locations. This one specifically is in the lower east side area which has a great dining scene!

Souvlaki GR has to be one of my favorite Greek spots in NYC hands down. I first came across it back in 2015 when I had a few friends that I met during my European travels were visiting in town. I thought it would be fitting to have a reunion at Greek restaurant since we had such a blast island hopping in Greece. I found this one and couldn't wait to check it out in person. Everyone loved this restaurant not only because of the decor but for how authentic the food was. I have been coming back countless times with so many friends and family. I'm surprised I haven't posted about it on my blog yet but trying to showcase my favorite places around New York City more on here. So if you're into Greek food, this is the place to check out. I highly recommend trying out their greek salads, souvlaki gyros, moussaka, and greek fries. Also their wine selection is great as well!

  17. Seems like an interesting place to eat. I love greek food, but eating it outside of greece seemed to me like a hazard. Good to know that there is a place, where they know what they are doing
