If you want amazing views of Albany, check out this state park!
John Boyd Thacher State Park.
Address: 830 Thacher Park Rd, Voorheesville, NY 12186
While visiting my brother up in Albany, we were at the Indian Ladder Farms apple picking. If you want to read more about that (click here). Only an 11 minute drive away was this state park that I saw earlier on Instagram that had amazing views. John Boyd Thacher State Park spans 2,155 acres and includes over 12 miles of trails that offer grand views of the Green Mountains in Vermont. Thacher Park also sits along the Helderberg Escarpment, which has been touted as one of the best fossil-bearing formations in the United States. Whether you want go for a hike or just drive up to the lookout spot, this is a must see place when visiting Albany!

ReplyDeleteThank you so much, you will enjoy your time there!
DeleteThis looks like SUCH a gorgeous area to explore (and not what I imagine at all when I think of New York!) It's funny how us non-New Yorkers always seem to forget how massive the rest of the state is. I Think I need to explore the whole area more, as this is simply lovely.
