If you haven't heard of EVEN hotels before, let me break it down for you! EVEN is a new hotel brand that's part of the IHG umbrella of hotels and resorts. Some hotel brands you may recognize are Intercontinental, Crowne Plaza, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, Holiday Inn, Hotel Indigo, and the list goes on. So this means if you're an IHG member you're able to use your points to book a stay here.

EVEN Hotels' philosophy is based around maintaining your healthy lifestyle and wellness routine whilst traveling. All of their rooms are designed to encourage you to keep active, eat well, rest, and feel productive while you travel. They incorporated this philosophy by putting workout equipment throughout your room such as a yoga mat, a foam roller, blocks, resistance bands, a workout ball, and a workout book to encourage you keep up with your routine when your away from home. Having this equipment in the comfort of your own room is great for those who just want to do something quick and don't want to go down to the gym.  They also have standing desks to help be more productive if you choose not to do any work from bed. There's a few EVEN hotels around the United States and as of right now there are three NYC properties; Brooklyn, Times Square, and Midtown East.

Last weekend I had a staycation here at the Even New York Hotel Midtown East location. Being it was Valentine's Day when I checked in, what better way to celebrate the weekend of love by inviting my favorite ladies to join me. Whether you're spending the holiday by yourself, with your friends/family, or with your partner, having a staycation just switches up your routine and environment. As I was in my uber in route to the hotel, it was so cute to see all the love birds out  and about holding hands, people walking around with flowers, and you just felt the love in the air that day. This was my first time staying in a hotel during a specific holiday and to my surprise it was just what I needed to relax. 

After a quick and seamless check in, we headed up to the room. As soon as I turned on the lights and walked towards the room, I was pleasantly surprised to see flower petals and balloons leading to the bed. It was such a festive and cute gesture especially for Valentine's Day! So if you ever want to stay at this hotel on this particular holiday with a partner, just know the staff at this hotel decorates your room very well. We stayed in a Wellness King Room on the twenty-third floor, if you are interested. The room was spacious and designed well. I found it to be very functional with it's use of space. Because as we all know sometimes hotels, let alone apartments in NYC can be small and cramped. I didn't feel this way this room, especially having three people stay in it.

As mentioned before, EVEN hotels promotes wellness and relaxation. I never experienced a hotel property that had actual workout equipment within the rooms. I loved this aspect and enjoyed being able to stretch and do a quick routine whenever I wanted. I also loved how they had a mood changer control where you could change the colors of the backboard of the bed. The bed itself is very comfy and soft. The bathroom was nice and spacious as well and loved how it included the use eco-friendly products. You have Keurig available if you are caffeine addict and mini fridge to store anything you might've purchased during your stay. The closet has space for a few hangers, and pull out boxes to store you items as well as a safe. If you prefer having a more hardcore workout there is an actual gym on the second floor. They also have an onsite restaurant and room service available.

EVEN Midtown East Hotel is situated in an amazing location. Less than a five minute walk away, you can find Grand Central Station. If you're coming from out of town this is a convenient spot to get to and from and navigate your way if you have any suitcases with you. You can also check out other Manhattan attractions and landmarks like the Chrysler Building which is only two blocks away from the hotel.  The Empire State Building, Times Square, and Rockefeller plaza are all within a 20 minute walk. Although the weather wasn't ideal  (way too cold) this particular weekend, we enjoyed our time. The change of scenery during our staycation definitely made a difference and staying at the EVEN Midtown East hotel was so wonderful. Overall Thoughts.

We had such a great time during our stay here at the Even New York Midtown East hotel. From check in to check out, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable, especially having three people occupying it. The added detail of decorating the room with balloons and rose petals for Valentine's Day was so sweet and thoughtful. The views from our window were fantastic during the day and night. The location was absolutely perfect! Being blocks away from Grand Central Station and having views from the Chrysler Building from our room, what more can you ask for? There's many options of eateries around the hotel and a great starting point area if you are a tourist whose visiting and want to commute to the popular landmarks around the city. The hotel also has a great terrace to check out but preferably more enjoyable when the weather is a bit warmer. All in all, I can't recommend this hotel enough. If you have an EVEN hotel nearby you, I hope you check it out and experience a staycation/vacation for yourself there!
